Jennifer Buettner – Agency & Partnership
Jennifer Buettner will teach Agency & Partnership at Birmingham School of Law on Thursday evenings during the upcoming Spring term. Buettner currently serves as Associate General Counsel for Southern Nuclear and provides legal advice and guidance to executives, managers, and employees throughout the organization. She handles a broad range of legal matters, including regulatory, transactional, employment and litigation issues. Buettner also focuses on legal, regulatory, contractual, and commercial issues impacting the development and deployment of the Vogtle Units 3 & 4 construction project.
Prior to working with Southern Nuclear, Buettner was the managing attorney for Southern Company’s general counsel department. Obtaining her law degree from the University of Alabama in 1999, Ms. Buettner began her career with Balch & Bingham, where she became a partner in 2006. While there, she represented Southern Company in a variety of energy-related regulatory matters.
Buettner also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Millsaps College and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Arkansas.
