First Annual BSL Day a Success

Birmingham School of Law held its first BSL DAY on June 11th at Regions Field when the Birmingham Baron’s took on the Mobile BayBears.  About 100 students, alumni, faculty and their friends and families attended the event.

“It was a great turnout on a beautiful day in our city,” says BSL Assistant Dean Scott Garrett. “We were a little warm, but a steady breeze cooled off the home run porch just enough. We enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs and a baseball game, even though the Barons didn’t win.”

Student Thomas Russell, senior VP at EvaBank, gifted $500 for a drawing held at the event. Student Parrish Webster was the winner of the drawing, which was applied to his tuition for the summer term.

“It was a great first outing for the BSL family,” Garrett says. “We look forward to putting together similar fun events in the future. It is important to me that we get BSL folks together more often than we have in the past.”
