We are a small Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate law firm in the Mountain Brook area seeking a legal assistant to join our team. Prior legal experience is preferred, but not required. Initial pay would be based on experience but growth opportunities are available. Our office hours are from 8am to 4pm. Dress is casual, and parking is plentiful and free. We have a therapy/support dog, Pax, who is also in the office with us most days, so please keep that in mind when applying. Job duties would include, but not be limited to, answering phones, drafting / printing / organizing legal documents, learning paralegal tasks, and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications: Knowledge of document management software • Working knowledge of office equipment, like computers, printers, and desktop scanners • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
