Lois Beasley-Carlisle – Domestic Relations
Lois Beasley-Carlisle will teach Domestic Relations at Birmingham School of Law on Monday evenings during the upcoming Spring term. A partner of Carlisle & Carlisle, PC, she and her husband have worked together since 1993 in general law practice concentrating in Bankruptcy, Domestic Relations, Criminal Law, and Social Security Law. Past jobs Carlisle has held include teaching in the Criminal Justice program at UAB, serving as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, and working for Legal Services of Metro Birmingham for a number of years. She has also worked with the Birmingham Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Program for almost 30 years.
Prior to her career in the legal profession, Carlisle was a registered nurse for more than 10 years. During her nursing career, she served as Director of Nursing in a nursing home. She also worked in hospitals in the areas of open heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, renal transplants, and general nursing. She holds a Juris Doctor degree, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Nursing.
Carlisle has six children and three grandchildren (and a fourth on the way). She has a passion for art, and in her spare time paints landscapes in oils.
