Birmingham School of Law alumnus J.D. Walker, Attorney at Law, has been retained by the Birmingham Bulls as the team’s immigration lawyer. He will handle international affairs for the team and will help the athletes and coaches from around the world gain legal entry into the United States.
“The United States’ immigration laws allow foreign nationals, who have achieved significant international recognition in a sport, entry into the U.S. temporarily to perform at a specific athletic competition as an individual athlete or as part of a group or team,” says Walker. “As the team’s immigration attorney, I will handle international matters of bringing athletes and coaches to the United States to compete at an internationally recognized level of performance.”
Walker began his work with the Bulls on October 30th, and he is looking forward to being a part of the organization. “Growing up in Texas, I watched the Dallas Stars professional hockey team and actually went to the parade when they won the Stanley Cup in 1998-99,” he says. “To be able to be part of professional hockey in Alabama is a dream come true. Go Bulls!
