Lending Paralegal

Burr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening for a full-time lending paralegal for its Birmingham office to work in the finance, lending, and banking group. The transactional paralegal will work closely with the supervising attorney on all aspects of large closing transactions, and is responsible for the assembly and verification of all documentation necessary to complete the transaction. Candidates must be very familiar with the closing process, including the preparation of due diligence items, reviewing due diligence checklists and loan documents, examining title reports and property surveys, research of UCC filings and corporate documents, preparation of loan packages for clients and loan document transcripts for all parties, completing general post-closing items, and overall support to the finance, lending, and banking group.

Minimum two-year degree in paralegal studies or NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification is required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university plus paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program and 2 years of applicable experience is preferred. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced team environment, and must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
