Law Clerk Position To Circuit Court Judge


LAW CLERK TO CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE ELISABETH FRENCH
Summary: The broad range of duties includes conducting legal research, preparing bench
memos, drafting orders and opinions, and verifying citations. The Law Clerk must also attend
Court sessions to hear oral arguments and record necessary case information, maintain notes
attendant to Court proceedings; carefully and thoroughly review briefs and trial records;
make thoughtful recommendations regarding the resolution of legal issues before the Court;
and, operate as a liaison between the Court and the Jury. Effective interaction with members
of the Bar, Clerk’s Office Staff and Judicial Staff is essential.
Qualifications: Must have sat for admission to the Alabama State Bar, excellent legal
research and writing skills, proficient computer skills, internet research, and word processing
skills, and the ability to independently manage a large number of cases.
Salary: $21,000.00/year
